Restaurants at The Villages Town Squares: Where to Eat at Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood
Most evenings on a Villages town square end at a table, and the three squares feed you very differently. One leans steakhouse and Italian, one has the lake and the longest list, one is the newest of the three. Here is every dining listing on each square as of November 2026, sourced to the developer's own pages, so you can plan a night out or judge which square you want to live near.

What restaurants are at The Villages town squares?
As of November 2026 the developer lists about 15 dining names at Spanish Springs, 19 at Lake Sumter Landing and 16 at Brownwood Paddock Square. Sit-down choices include Bella Vita and Amerikanos Grille at Spanish Springs, Chop House and Amelia's at Lake Sumter Landing, and Bluefin and Prima at Brownwood. Call ahead, because listings change.
The short version
- Lake Sumter Landing has the longest dining list (19 names) and the only lakefront patio among the three squares, at Amelia's in The Waterfront Inn.
- Spanish Springs reopened on February 13, 2026 after its revitalization, and Barons Creek Vineyards opened there on May 23, 2026.
- Brownwood's sit-down anchors are Bluefin Grill & Bar on the square and Prima Italian Steakhouse on Kiessel Road.
- Seven brands have locations on two squares, including City Fire, Cody's Original Roadhouse, TooJay's and World of Beer.
- Luma is building a second location at Lake Sumter Landing and Another Broken Egg is listed as coming to Brownwood; neither had an opening date as of November 6, 2026.
What restaurants are at The Villages town squares?
The developer's square pages list about 50 dining names across Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood Paddock Square as of November 2026. The mix runs from coffee, ice cream and delis to steakhouses, seafood grills and Italian dining rooms. Each square page shows the names and phone numbers, but not hours or street addresses.
Each of the three original squares has its own shopping and dining page on thevillages.com, and each lists the square open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Those square hours are for the public spaces; every restaurant sets its own hours, so the restaurant is the one to ask.
The counts below come from the dining lists on those pages, read on November 6, 2026. They include counter service, dessert and coffee, because the developer files them all under dining.
| Square | Square address | Dining names listed | Sit-down anchors | Newest change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spanish Springs Town Square | 1120 Main Street | About 15 | Bella Vita Italian Steakhouse, Amerikanos Grille, Coastal del Mar Seafood Grill, McCall's Tavern, Ay! Jalisco | Reopened February 13, 2026; Barons Creek Vineyards opened May 23, 2026 |
| Lake Sumter Landing Market Square | 1000 Lake Sumter Landing | 19 | Chop House at Lake Sumter, Amelia's at The Waterfront Inn, Lighthouse Point Bar & Grille, VKI Japanese Restaurant | Waterfront revitalization underway; Luma has broken ground |
| Brownwood Paddock Square | 2705 West Torch Lake Drive | 16 | Bluefin Grill & Bar, Prima Italian Steakhouse, Harvest, Fiesta Grande Mexican Grill | Another Broken Egg listed as coming soon |
The squares also have live music most nights, which is why dinner and the dance floor tend to go together. Our town squares guide compares the music schedules, theaters and layout of all three.

Where can you eat at Spanish Springs Town Square?
Spanish Springs, the original square at 1120 Main Street, lists about 15 dining names as of November 2026. The sit-down rooms are Bella Vita Italian Steakhouse, Amerikanos Grille, Coastal del Mar Seafood Grill, McCall's Tavern, Ay! Jalisco and Ruby Tuesday, plus Blondie's outdoor bar and the Barons Creek Vineyards tasting room for drinks and small plates.
Spanish Springs is the first town center The Villages built, and it went through a long revitalization. The developer's update page says the square officially reopened on February 13, 2026, and its square page still describes the revitalization as ongoing while inviting people to dine and shop in the meantime.

The summary line on the same page also names Dunkin', World of Beer and Gator's Dockside without detail entries, so call before you count on those.
Bella Vita's hours
Bella Vita's online ordering page lists 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. That page is for pickup orders, so ask the restaurant about seating and reservations.
Blondie's and Barons Creek, the two drinks stops
Blondie's Bar describes itself as an outdoor bar on the square, stage left of The Sharon Performing Arts Center. Its own site lists hours beginning November 1 of 2 to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with a 5 to 6 p.m. happy hour. Two sources disagree on its status and address: the developer's summary line still tags it "coming soon" although the developer reported it open in June 2024, and its own site shows both 1063 and 1051 Main Street.
Barons Creek Vineyards opened on May 23, 2026, according to the developer. Its page lists $25 tasting flights, a food menu, and live music Thursday through Saturday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Listed hours are noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, 1 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and noon to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. If you are going to a show, our guide to The Sharon covers the box office and schedule.
Where can you eat at Lake Sumter Landing?
Lake Sumter Landing Market Square has the longest dining list of the three, 19 names as of November 2026. The waterfront and dinner choices include Chop House at Lake Sumter, Amelia's and Calypso at The Waterfront Inn, Lighthouse Point Bar & Grille, R.J. Gator's, Redsauce, Thai Ruby and VKI Japanese Restaurant.
Lake Sumter Landing sits on the lake, which is the one thing the other two squares cannot offer. The developer's page notes a waterfront revitalization underway and says its live cam will return soon.

The lakefront table
Sumter County's tourism listing for Amelia's, at The Waterfront Inn (1105 Lake Shore Drive), describes dinner service, happy hour, nightly entertainment and an outdoor patio looking over Lake Sumter. Phone numbers conflict: that listing gives Amelia's as 352-750-8265, which the developer lists for Calypso, while the developer gives Amelia's as 352-753-7535. Try both if one does not answer.
The developer's detail list also includes The Angler's Club. A local directory describes it as members only, so call 352-753-6734 before planning on it. Dinner here pairs easily with a film: our Old Mill Playhouse guide covers the square's theater.
Where can you eat at Brownwood Paddock Square?
Brownwood Paddock Square, at 2705 West Torch Lake Drive in Wildwood, lists 16 dining names as of November 2026, one of them coming soon. The sit-down anchors are Bluefin Grill & Bar on Brownwood Boulevard and Prima Italian Steakhouse on Kiessel Road, with Harvest, Fiesta Grande, Gator's Dockside, City Fire and Cody's nearby.
| Name | What it is | Phone |
|---|---|---|
| Bluefin Grill & Bar | Seafood and grill, 2738 Brownwood Boulevard | 352-571-5344 |
| Prima Italian Steakhouse | Italian, 3660 Kiessel Road | 352-391-9939 |

| Another Broken Egg | Listed as coming soon | 352-775-1942 |
Bluefin and Prima
Bluefin opened in September 2018 in a space that had been Las Tapas and the Bavarian Brewhaus, according to Villages-News coverage at the time. Its OpenTable listing describes a large indoor and outdoor bar overlooking the square, patio dining, lunch daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Sumter County's tourism listing places Prima Italian Steakhouse at 3660 Kiessel Road and says it comes from the family behind Pizzeria Valdiano. Neither listing publishes a reservation policy, so call.
Another Broken Egg carries a coming soon tag on the developer's page, but the chain's own locations page did not show a Villages address when we checked, so there is no opening date to report yet.
Which restaurants have a location on more than one square?
Seven names appear on two of the three square lists as of November 2026: City Fire, Cody's Original Roadhouse and TooJay's Gourmet Deli at Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood, Panera Bread at Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing, and World of Beer, Gator's Dockside and Dunkin' at Spanish Springs and Brownwood. Each location has its own phone.
This matters more than it sounds. If a favorite has two locations, you can pick the one nearer home, or the one with the band you want that night. It also means the same name can carry two different phone numbers, so save the right one.
| Name | Spanish Springs | Lake Sumter Landing | Brownwood |
|---|---|---|---|
| City Fire | No | 352-205-7169 | 352-561-2078 |
| Cody's Original Roadhouse | No | 352-259-8500 | 352-430-2996 |
| TooJay's Gourmet Deli | No | 352-430-0410 | 352-350-2122 |
| Panera Bread | 352-750-3909 | 352-750-1545 | No |
| World of Beer | 352-633-4787 | No | 352-633-9519 |
| Gator's Dockside | 352-430-1377 | No | 352-775-4071 |
| Dunkin' | 352-633-1445 | No | 352-689-2007 |
The Spanish Springs entries for World of Beer, Gator's Dockside and Dunkin' appear only in that page's summary line, without a detail entry. Treat them as listed but unconfirmed.
Do restaurants on The Villages squares take reservations?
It depends on the restaurant, and most square listings do not say. The developer's pages give a phone number for each place but no booking policy, and Bluefin's OpenTable page says it is not on OpenTable's booking network. The reliable approach is to call the restaurant directly, especially for a Friday or Saturday dinner before music.
Here is what the sources do and do not tell you as of November 2026:
- Phones: every dining name on the three square pages has one, which is the best starting point.
- Hours: not on the square pages. The squares themselves are listed 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, but kitchens set their own hours.
- Online booking: Bluefin is listed on OpenTable but cannot be booked there. Bella Vita's Toast page is for pickup ordering.
- Addresses: the developer pages do not print them for individual restaurants. The ones in this guide come from each restaurant's own listing or the county tourism site.
A simple habit: call the afternoon before, ask about the wait at 5 p.m. and at 7 p.m., and ask whether the patio is open.
What is new or coming to square dining in 2026?
Spanish Springs reopened on February 13, 2026 after its revitalization, and Barons Creek Vineyards opened there on May 23, 2026. Luma Mediterranean Kitchen has broken ground on a second location at Lake Sumter Landing, and Another Broken Egg is listed as coming to Brownwood. Neither newcomer had a published opening date as of November 6, 2026.
- Spanish Springs reopening, February 13, 2026. The developer reported the square officially reopened after an extensive revitalization. Its square page still calls the work ongoing.
- Barons Creek Vineyards, May 23, 2026. A wine tasting room on Main Street with food and Thursday through Saturday music.
- Luma at Lake Sumter Landing. A developer article from January 2026 says the fast-casual Mediterranean kitchen has broken ground for its second location; the first is open at The Market at Sawgrass Grove. No opening date has been posted.
- Another Broken Egg at Brownwood. Tagged coming soon on the Brownwood page, with a phone number but no date.
- Lake Sumter Landing waterfront. The square page says a waterfront revitalization is underway.
The two newest dining hubs have their own guides: Eastport and Sawgrass Grove, where Luma's first location is.
Which square suits which kind of night out?
Choose Lake Sumter Landing for the lake view and the widest menu, with the Old Mill Playhouse next door. Choose Spanish Springs for Italian, a wine flight or drinks near The Sharon before a show. Choose Brownwood for a seafood dinner overlooking the square or Italian on Kiessel Road. All three list square hours of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
| If you want | Spanish Springs | Lake Sumter Landing | Brownwood |
|---|---|---|---|
| A view of the water | No lakefront listing | Amelia's patio on Lake Sumter | No lakefront listing |
| Italian or pizza | Bella Vita, Flippers Pizzeria | Bravo Pizza | Prima |
| Seafood | Coastal del Mar | No seafood-named listing; call around | Bluefin |
| Wine or a drink first | Barons Creek, Blondie's | Lighthouse Point | World of Beer |
| A show after | The Sharon | Old Mill Playhouse | Check the square's music calendar |
| Breakfast | Panera, CFS Coffee | Flying Biscuit Cafe | Renee's French Bakery; Another Broken Egg coming |
Before you drive or cart over, confirm three things: that the restaurant is open that evening, who is playing on the square, and how long the wait is. All three change week to week.
The local take
I was born and raised in Marion County, and I represent buyers independently. People rarely ask me about restaurants directly, but they ask about them indirectly all the time: "how far is it to the square?" usually means "how easy is it to go out to dinner?"
The trade-off people miss. Living near a square makes dinner out an easy habit, and each square has its own character: the lake at Lake Sumter Landing, the steakhouse and wine row at Spanish Springs, the patio bar overlooking the square at Brownwood. But proximity can also mean evening traffic and music, and the restaurant list on any square can change in a season. Buy for the square's setting and your daily drive, not for one restaurant that may move.
What I would check before choosing a home for its square.
- The cart route and drive time from the address to the square at 5 p.m., not at noon.
- Whether a second square is within reach, so a closed favorite is not the end of the night.
- How the home's total monthly cost compares across sections, including the bond and amenity fee. The cost of living page lays that out.
- Which section the village sits in, using the village directory, so you know which square is really your nearest.
If you send me a few addresses, I will map each one to its nearest squares and put the drive next to the full monthly cost.
Frequently asked questions
Are the town square restaurants open to non-residents?
The developer's square pages invite visitors to dine and shop, and the restaurants list public phone numbers and, in several cases, online ordering or listing pages. The Angler's Club at Lake Sumter Landing is the exception noted by a local directory as members only. If you are visiting, call the restaurant to confirm before you go.
What are the town square hours in The Villages?
As of November 2026 the developer lists Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood Paddock Square open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Those are the hours for the squares themselves. Each restaurant, bar and tasting room sets its own hours, which can be shorter on Sundays, so check with the restaurant.
Is there breakfast on the town squares?
Yes. Lake Sumter Landing lists Flying Biscuit Cafe, Panera, Starbucks and TooJay's. Spanish Springs lists Panera and CFS Coffee. Brownwood lists Renee's French Bakery, McAlister's, TooJay's and Dunkin', and Another Broken Egg is tagged coming soon there. Breakfast hours are not printed on the square pages, so call ahead.
Where can I get a glass of wine on the squares?
Barons Creek Vineyards at 1171 Main Street in Spanish Springs runs wine tastings at $25 per flight, plus taxes, as of November 2026, with a food menu and live music Thursday through Saturday afternoons. The bars and full-service restaurants on all three squares also serve drinks; ask each one about its list.
Why do some restaurants show two phone numbers?
Several brands run a location on two squares, and the developer lists a separate number for each. A few listings also conflict between sources, such as Amelia's at The Waterfront Inn and Peterbrooke Chocolatier. When numbers disagree, the restaurant's own website or a call to the square's other listed number usually settles it.
