The Sharon Performing Arts Center in The Villages: What Is Playing This Season, How Tickets Work, and What to Know Before You Go
Free music on the squares gets the attention, but a lot of the evenings people plan their week around happen indoors, at The Sharon in Spanish Springs. It is the largest ticketed stage in The Villages, it runs a full touring and orchestra season, and the way tickets are sold is different enough from a big-city box office that it is worth knowing before you buy.

What is The Sharon, and where is it?
The Sharon is the performing arts center on the Spanish Springs Town Square, at 1051 Main Street, The Villages, FL 32159. It seats just over 1,000 guests on several levels, was renovated from the building known as the Church on the Square, and is named for the matriarch of the Morse family.
The building goes by two names. The theater's own pages mostly say The Sharon Performing Arts Center, while its logo and the developer's older web address use The Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center. Residents just say The Sharon. Both mean the same room.
It is operated by Significant Productions, Inc. (often shortened to SigPro), which the theater describes as a Florida not-for-profit and a 501(c)(3) public charity. SigPro also runs a smaller black box room, The SigPro Studio, at Lake Sumter Landing. Tickets for both are sold by The Villages Entertainment, the ticketing arm that also handles the Savannah Center and The Tracy.
If you have not been to Spanish Springs, our guide to the town squares covers the square itself, the free nightly music and the movie theater, so this post sticks to what happens inside The Sharon.

How do you buy tickets to The Sharon?
Buy only through The Villages Entertainment: online at thesharon.com or thevillagesentertainment.com, by phone through the remote box office at 352-753-3229 on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or in person at the windows at The Sharon, Brownwood or Lake Sumter Landing, open weekdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets sold anywhere else are unauthorized.
A few rules from the box office's own FAQ and code of conduct, as of October 2026:
- Resident discount. Some performances carry a resident price. You show your Villages Resident ID at the window, or sign in online with your Resident ID and the four-digit PIN you use for golf. Not every show offers it. The PIN comes from the Tee Time Office, 352-750-4558.
- Online limit. Up to 30 tickets per event per online transaction. The windows have no limit.
- Exchanges. Done at a box office window before closing on the last business day before the show, for any event currently on sale, at $3 per ticket. Web fees are not refunded on an exchange.
- Refunds. No general refund policy is posted. The FAQ says you can give tickets away or sell them at face value, and that in some cases a gift card for the ticket price, less fees, can be issued before the performance.
- Resale. Third-party resale is not authorized, and reselling on the premises is prohibited. The box office says it cannot vouch for tickets bought elsewhere.
- Lost tickets. Window purchases are reprinted free with photo ID; print-at-home tickets are emailed again.
The theater's own line for questions and accessibility requests is 352-668-9502. The Villages Entertainment main box office line is 352-750-5411.

What season subscriptions does The Sharon offer for 2026-27?
Three. The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra subscription gives 10 percent off four or more concerts and 15 percent off all nine. The Broadway subscription pairs A Beautiful Noise and Waitress with one to three add-ons and saves up to 12 percent. A new International series runs December 5 to March 2. Prices are not posted publicly.
| Series | What is included | Discount |
|---|---|---|
| Villages Philharmonic Orchestra | Nine concerts: Sep 6, Oct 13, Nov 20, Dec 15 and 16, Jan 27, Feb 13, Feb 14, Mar 9, Apr 1 | 10% off four or more (Labor Day Pops excluded); 15% off all nine |
| Broadway | A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical (Jan 19 and 20) and Waitress (Feb 26 and 27), plus one to three of The Pirates of Penzance (Jan 29) and Maks and Peta Live (Apr 17) | Save up to 12%, plus access to premium seating |
| International | Artists from Tibet, Japan, Quebec and Ireland, Dec 5 to Mar 2 | 15% off is advertised; full terms were cut off on the listing |
The orchestra series is the anchor. The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra describes itself as a professional orchestra playing since 2003, under conductor Pasquale Valerio, and its September 6 and October 13 concerts are already past for this season. Renewals are handled at any Villages box office or at 352-753-3229.
The Broadway package originally included The Carpenters Songbook on October 30, now past. The theater's pages show the package ending April 17, 2028 while the entertainment site says April 17, 2027; the show dates point to 2027, so treat the later year as a typo until the box office says otherwise.

What should you know before your first show at The Sharon?
Arrive early, because will call and the lobby open well before the curtain. Parking around Spanish Springs is free and golf cars are encouraged. Business casual is the norm. There is a full bar with light snacks, outside food is not allowed, children under four are not admitted to most shows, and phones stay off during performances.
The details, with the places where sources disagree:
- Doors. The theater's FAQ says the auditorium opens about 60 minutes before the show. The Villages Entertainment FAQ says about 45 minutes, and its Know Before You Go page says the lobby opens about an hour ahead and the theater doors about 30 minutes ahead. Arriving 45 to 60 minutes early covers every version.
- Will call. The theater's box office page says 90 minutes before each performance; the entertainment FAQ says one hour.
- Late arrivals. Each production sets its own late seating. You wait in the lobby, which has monitors, and late arrival does not earn a refund.
- Parking. Free in several lots around Spanish Springs Town Center, with accessible parking on the north side of the theater. The box office encourages golf cars and carpooling. Our golf cart living guide covers how far a cart realistically takes you.
- Food and drink. A full bar and light snacks inside. No outside food or drink. The building is smoke-free.
- Age rules. Children under four are not admitted unless a show is marked family or child friendly, and anyone under 18 needs an adult 21 or older. Every person needs a ticket, including lap children, and infants are not admitted to Broadway shows.
- Dress. Business casual for most shows; galas are noted when they are more formal.
- Bags. Entry can involve a reasonable search, there is no standing room, and you sit in your ticketed seat.

Is The Sharon accessible for wheelchairs and hearing loss?
Yes, by the theater's description. An elevator reaches every seating level, ramps serve every entrance, and wheelchair spaces include easy-transfer seats. Free assistive listening devices with a T-Coil system are available in the lobby. Some shows add audio description through the LiveVoice phone app, and ASL interpreters can be requested in advance.
Requests go to the theater at 352-668-9502, and the theater posts an accessibility seating map on its Accessibility page. Things to know:
- Book accommodations ahead. Interpreters and audio description are scheduled in advance; day-of requests cannot be met.
- Audio-described dates listed so far: January 20, January 29, February 27 and April 17, 2027. The February 27 performance of Waitress at 1:30 p.m. is also listed as an ASL performance.
- Aisle seats can hold a wheelchair when the seat is removed, which is worth asking about if you want to sit with your group.
- Animals. Trained service animals are welcome anywhere in the building. Emotional support animals are not permitted.

How does The Sharon compare with the other ticketed stages in The Villages?
The Sharon is the largest, at just over 1,000 seats. The Savannah Center and The Tracy Performing Arts Center each seat a little over 800, and The SigPro Studio at Lake Sumter Landing is a black box room for about 200. All four sell through The Villages Entertainment, so one account covers them.
| Venue | Address | Seats | What it mostly books |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Sharon Performing Arts Center | 1051 Main Street, Spanish Springs | Just over 1,000 | Touring concerts, Broadway, dance, comedy, the Philharmonic |
| The Savannah Center | 1545 Buena Vista Boulevard | Just over 800 | Music, theater and comedy |
| The Tracy Performing Arts Center | 2210 Dr. Randy McDaniel Way, at The Villages High School | Over 800 | Student productions, plays, musicals, concerts; a smaller Encore space for coffee house events |
| The SigPro Studio | 1030 Old Mill Run, Lake Sumter Landing | 200+ | Plays, musicals and original works on a flexible black box stage |
The developer's ticketed entertainment page also lists The Villages Polo Club. For a sense of how a show night fits next to the free music, golf and clubs, see a week in The Villages, day by day.

The local take
I was born and raised in Marion County, and I represent buyers independently. When someone tells me the shows matter to them, I take that as a real input to the home search, not a nice extra, because it changes which part of The Villages makes sense.
Think about the drive home at 9:30 at night. The Sharon is in Spanish Springs. From the neighborhoods around that square, a show can be a short cart ride. From the newest villages south of SR 44 it is a much longer trip, by cart or by car, and it ends after dark. Neither is wrong, but if you expect to go twice a month, that trip is part of the house you are choosing. Our historic side section guide covers the housing stock closest to Spanish Springs.
Price the hobby honestly. Subscriptions, exchanges at $3 a ticket and dinner before the show add up, the same way golf does. When I run a true monthly cost for a buyer, I ask them to put their entertainment in it, so the house fits the life they actually plan to live.
What I would check: the cart route from a specific address to Spanish Springs, whether that route needs a car after dark, and the bond and amenity fee on each home, so the money left over for the season is real.
Frequently asked questions
Do you have to live in The Villages to buy tickets to The Sharon?
No page read for this post limits tickets to residents. Anyone can buy online at thesharon.com or thevillagesentertainment.com, by phone or at a box office window. Residents may get a lower price on some performances by showing a Villages Resident ID or signing in with their ID and golf PIN.
How far ahead do shows at The Sharon go on sale?
It varies by show. The Villages Philharmonic 2026-27 subscription and single tickets went on sale May 6, 2026, and the Broadway and International series are listed months in advance. For single touring shows, check each event page on thesharon.com, since on-sale dates are set per show.
Can I bring my grandchildren to a show at The Sharon?
Often, yes, with limits. Children under four are not admitted unless the show is marked family or child friendly, and anyone under 18 must be with an adult 21 or older. Each child needs a ticket, and infants are not admitted to Broadway performances. Check the event page for content notes.
Can you take a tour of The Sharon?
The theater advertises Behind The Curtain tours, and it lists a private VIP box that holds up to 15 guests and a private lounge that can be booked. Dates and prices for these were not posted on the pages read in October 2026, so call 352-668-9502.
What happens if a show at The Sharon is cancelled for weather?
The Villages Entertainment says each event has its own cancellation policy, so there is no single rule. If weather is a concern, call the box office at 352-750-5411 before you leave, and keep your purchase confirmation handy for any exchange or credit.
Is there a dress code at The Sharon?
The theater recommends business casual for most performances. When a show is a gala or calls for more formal dress, the event listing says so. If you are unsure about a particular show, the box office can tell you what most guests wear.
